About 2 1/2 months ago is when everything started with Luca my 4 year old Chihuahua.  He started to vomit everyday and it worried me.  I took him to his primary vet and he was stumped so he referred me to an Animal Specialty Hospital.  I noticed that on top of the vomiting, he was starting to drool excessively, having seizures, was disoriented and wobbly.  They suggested I get a scintigraphy of his liver to see if he had a liver shunt.  Fortunately he doesn't have a liver shunt but they feel he has some form of liver disease.   They also repeated a bile acid test but the results were inconclusive.  They said they wanted a neurologist to take a look at Luca.  After meeting with the neurologist she suggested having an MRI.  I found out he has hydrocephalus which is way more serious than they thought as well as the top portion of his spine is pushing into his cerebellum which is responsible for his uncoordination.  So, her suggestion is to have brain surgery. She would like to place a shunt in his head that would drain the fluid in his brain into his abdomen to relieve the pressure that has built up as well as chisel down the bone so it is no longer pushing into his spine so he can regain his coordination.

I have spent thousands of dollars and can't afford anymore.  I have been trying to either raise money or tap into money that he might qualify for.  I have spent a total of $6,436 to date.  I was able to raise $1,000 from my close friends and family.  Unfortunately, his pet insurance hasn't covered anything because they see his liver disease as being a pre-existing condition.  His next surgery will be between an estimated $3,000-$4,000.

If I knew Luca's situation was hopeless, I would not carry on.  His spunky personality is still there and I am not ready to let go.  I love him to death and I am trying to do everything I can to make sure he gets the resources and treatments he needs.  He is my little man, my baby boy.

Hi!  I'm Odie and I am in PAIN...
a torn ligament in my knee.  The VA TECH Doctors can fix me - but I have no MONEY... The Doctors say it will cost $1,200.00 dollars. I am only 3 and I cannot run and play, because it HURTS.  

I protect and Y my senior, disabled lady - rescuer. I say rescuer because she once saved me when I was found in a barn at 3 weeks old - mangy, worms, starving, thirsty, lonely and was a Flea-bag.  My heroine gets very little social Security and lives in a 38 year old trailer.

We have no close neighbors and we are alone most of the time...  Some months we can barely make it.  We are poor but rich in Y.  I stay in the house with her and sleep against her warm leg.  She too is sick with heart trouble.
