Gentle Toby

As with most strays, Toby was wary of Sherri’s good intentions. It took awhile but she was finally able to
rescue him. Sherri took Toby to her vet and found that his leg was broken, probably for as long as a month. The soft tissue was so contracted that pins would not hold. The leg had to come off.

Because of Toby’s extensive injuries, Sherri needed some financial assistance. “My financial resources and time were running thin,” she told us. But her commitment to Toby’s welfare was as strong as ever. That’s when she heard of The Mosby Foundation through Almost Home Pet Adoption Center in Nelson County, VA. Sherri contacted us and explained her situation.

We extended a helping hand and now Toby is well on his way to recovery. He has taken up temporary residence in Sherri’s household, sharing her attention with Sherri’s 8 dogs and 2 cats, all rescues. “He has been a complete gentleman!” Sherri told us. “I have seen him playing with children and he already seems to know the potty is outside.”

Toby has been neutered, had his shots and is waiting for a forever home. “I would dearly love to keep Toby, but do not have the time and attention he so deserves.” Sherri tells us that he is blossoming. “He is good with other dogs and he ignores my cats. But mostly he is learning the joy of human kindness.”
