Sweet Rosie

Who knows where her home was? Or what put her on the streets? All The Mosby Foundation knows is that Rosie just kept going. A beagle stray found wandering aimlessly, searching for food and favoring a badly broken leg, Rosie’s luck did not get any better at the King William County pound. For six days, Rosie suffered needlessly at the hands of a vet who did not think it was necessary to splint her leg, much less give her pain medication . Fortunately, rescue volunteers found Rosie and took her out of the pound and straight to a caring veterinarian’s office.

But the cost to restore Rosie’s health was far beyond what her rescuer could afford. The situation seemed desperate. Fortunately, one of Rosie’s new friends contacted The Mosby Foundation and asked us to help. We knew the situation was critical, if Rosie was to ever walk again, she needed this surgery. And, of course, we said, yes. Several other donors pitched in with us and made Rosie’s return to a full life not just a possibility, but a reality.

A veterinarian in Stuarts Draft, VA performed the surgery and put a pin in Rosie’s leg. The vet also discovered that Rosie’s pelvis had been broken, but it was healing fine on its own.

Rosie’s prognosis is very good! She is using her leg a fair amount which is a good sign. Very sweet, Rosie seems to be not only housebroken, but likes other dogs and loves children. Rosie is exactly the kind of dog The Mosby Foundation loves to help. Now ready for adoption, this little dog will offer someone an unbeatable combination of unconditional love, loyalty and patience.
