Beagle, Basset, what’s in a
name? Jll Rinaca, Adoptions
Team Leader for the Basset Rescue to Old Dominion (BROOD), called us for
some help. It seems a man in Jonesville, Virginia had been feeding a stray
Basset. The nephew of the man, who lives in Florida, contacted BROOD to come
pick him up. Oops! Make that a Beagle. When BROOD arrived, they found an adorable Beagle with a broken right ankle. The poor little guy was walking on the skin, wearing it down to the flesh.
But with a name like
Harley, you don’t let a little thing like leg amputation slow you down.
There is nothing he can’t do. Stairs? Not a problem. Harley goes up and
down steps without a second thought. House training? Not needed. Harley is a
perfect gentleman. The only thing Harley really needs is a forever home. Jill describes the
remarkable beagle this way. “Harley really has no issues. He is the
perfect dog. He LOVES being with people and other dogs.” Harley would be
great with a fenced yard and another dog to play with. A social as he is,
Harley would be happiest with someone who’s home most of the time. All he
really wants is to be loved and to be with people all the time.
We’re so proud that
The Mosby foundation played a part in giving Harley Jones a wonderful new
life. He’s only two years old. But with a little help and a whole lot of
love, his deplorable past is firmly behind him. All that’s left is for him
to find the person who’s looking for a nearly perfect dog with a whole
lotta love. We have a feeling
Harley will find the perfect companion at just the right time. It seems
Harley has a way of making things work out for himself. |
